Bird Banter Perched on Tranquil Tulips

There's been a lull in birdie cards, so here's my latest.
I sure hope that the Bird Banter set (Occasions p 42)
makes it into the new catty, because it is just so much fun!
Yesterday, the beautiful Host set,  Tranquil Tulips
(annual p 223) sitting on my desk.  One glance told me that a parrot
would look just dandy perched on those leaves.
In order to match the parrot coloring to the Peekaboo Peach
card stock, I blended Pink Pirouette and Light Calypso Coral
Stampin' Blends.
The resulting color matched quite well.

The parrot is coated with Wink of Stella, but it is very hard to see.
I also added a layer of Petal Passion DSP (Occasions p 23)
because it is simply perfect with these cute birds.

The sentiment is placed inside the card, over a bit of ribbon.
Sometimes it is nice to embellish the interior of the card,
as an added surprise.

Brusho on Bundle of Love Specialty DSP

I've continued to "play with" Brusho Crystal Color
(Occasions p 26) to determine my favorite technique.
Given my love for the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP
(Annual p 189), it was inevitable that I would splash a piece
of DSP with some Brusho.   I added the "amazing" sentiment
from the free SAB Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (p 17).
I apologize for the poor photo quality.  I had a very difficult
time getting the shine and variation of this card finish.

Colored SAB Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

The second SAB release includes this delightful DSP,
called Springtime Foils Specialty DSP.  I'm a huge sucker
for embossed DSP, because you can sponge over it, or
color portions with the Stampin' Blends.
In this example, I did both, to accentuate the gold and
silver embossing.  It's so relaxing to color and easy peasy
to create a set of cards with the Springtime Foils DSP.

Stamp Off Bubble Over on Green

Welcome back to our Stamp Off Challenge, hosted by
Susan, Buffy and I, every other Friday.

St Patrick's day is just around the corner, so that's
the challenge theme.  We left it kind of
open, so that Green will also get the job done.

I went with something that happens locally.  There is an Irish Pub about a mile from my house, so the green beer will be flowing!

Since the holiday theme is drinking, Bubble Over with
the coordinating Bottles & Bubbles Framelits Dies
(Occasions p 32) bundle was my first choice.  I liked the
idea of the Color Theory DSP (annual p 187) as a background
with a bit of silver foil paper to ground the bottle.  The
Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant work together to produce
a masculine feel to this drinking theme.

I'm glad that you stopped by and know that you will
enjoy seeing the cards offered by Buffy and Susan.
Also, please remember to set your clocks forward
this weekend (well except for AZ)!

Waterfront in Black and White

I've seen lots of wonderful black and white Waterfront
projects (Occasions 48) cards, so decided to give it a try.
This project was stamped on glossy cardstock, making
it pretty quick and simple.

I enjoy this set because it enables so many different
looks and techniques.  But it also allows you to create
with great ease!

Butterfly on Springtime Foils Specialty DSP

The second round of SAB offerings are out.
I really love the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP
(SAB2 p 3) paper, because you can use it as is,
or color it with your favorite coloring technique.
For this card, I left it "plain", and added a butterfly from
the Butterfly Thinlits (annual p 215) that had been embossed
with a bit of copper embossing powder.
The sentiment comes from the You've Got This set
on page 101 in the annual catalog.
